Google SEO is a very important aspect of marketing your website. There are several ways to optimize your SEO if you want your website to be at the top Google search results.
Google Keyword Research
The cornerstone of every SEO campaign is keyword research. This is essential to determine which keywords you should target and how best to optimize your content. You can use several tools to find keywords relevant for your website:
Google Search Optimizer Planner: This tool lets you enter a phrase or keyword and find out how many times it is searched for each month in Google Search. (At least, this works only within the US). You can filter your results by keyword, interest category and location. You can also see the related searches performed when users are looking at similar pages to yours. Data can be exported to spreadsheets, so multiple team members or agency members can access their findings all at once.
Google Autocomplete: This feature displays what people search for in real-time when they use autocomplete to complete the pages of top-ranking sites! It is great because it provides insights into what customers want but aren’t saying out loud. It also gives marketers an alternative to paid ads when there may not be budget available.
Link Building
Link building is the process of getting websites to link back to yours. This is one of the most crucial aspects of SEO and you should do it if you’re looking to have your website rank high in search engines. Link building isn’t just about quantity, but quality. Although you can get thousands low-quality links through article directories, they won’t help your rankings or traffic as much as a few high quality backlinks coming from authoritative sites such TechCrunch or Forbes (or smaller sites in your niche).
It takes time to build links. It’s best to build links over time by creating value and promoting it on social media platforms such as Facebook groups, where my target audience hangs out. Then I make sure they know I appreciate them by offering discounts and products/services.
Internal Links
SEO is based on internal links. Internal links are used to help Google determine the relevance of your website, as well as helping visitors find the information they seek. Internal links can be of two types:
- Links to other pages within the same domain, e.g. “How-to guides”
- Linking to pages in a different domain, e.g. “Why We Do It”
You can also use anchor text as part of your internal linking strategy. This is done by using keywords that are directly related to the content on that page (i.e. “How-To Guides”, “Google Search Optimizer Guide”).
Meta Tags and Title Tag
Meta tags are code that is placed in the header of a site. These tags contain information about a page such as its keywords, description and other pertinent data. Meta tag Google Search Optimization should be unique for each page. If you have several pages that have similar content, such as “About Us”, then each should have a different meta tag.
Title tags are the titles of webpages that show up in search engine result pages (SERPs). These are displayed below links, when someone searches something related to your company or industry. For example: If you type in “web design” in Google’s search box, several results will appear including websites with titles like “Web Design Company Los Angeles”, or “Best Web Designer San Diego CA”.
There are many ways to optimize your SEO
You can optimize your SEO in many different ways. Keyword research is one of the most crucial things to think about. It will determine what people search for on Google, and how they search for it.
The keyword research can also be used to determine which keywords are most likely to bring traffic (and money) to your website. If someone is searching for a topic or phrase on Google, you want them to land on your site instead of another website’s with similar content. This will increase conversions and eliminate any competition.
Internal links are also important for SEO because they allow users to move from one page of your website (such as “About Us”) straight into another page without leaving the site. They can then return later using external links, such as Facebook posts or Twitter updates about products/services that are only available now.
