The technology industry is a fast-growing one, with a value of over PS585billion in the UK. With this growth comes an increasing demand for skilled tech workers, particularly for women. What tech skills will be in high demand for 2023, and why? This article looks at the top 5 most in-demand skills for 2023.

1. Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI), a technology that is revolutionizing the way people live, shop and work, is an important part of this transformation. In most industries, AI is being used. Amazon Alexa, for example, is now a standard in many UK households, with 52% owning a voice assistant. Voice assistants will continue to gain popularity, whether they are used to add items to a list, help with homework, or set a timer. The technology industry is not impacted by the AI development.

To work in AI you will need to have a set of key skills. Some companies, however, feel there is a shortage of these skill sets. 57% of the companies surveyed by European Commission said that the biggest obstacle to AI adoption was hiring new staff who had the right expertise. These skills can include learning programming languages, deep learning, machine learning and packages such as TensorFlow or NumPy.

2. Coding

Knowing how to code is probably the most important IT skill. It will be required in all industries. The basics of programming are a good foundation for specialised knowledge in another area. IEEE Spectrum’s ranking on coding languages popularity revealed that Python, Java, and C were the top three, but there are many more.

It’s not surprising that they’re in high demand because of the growing use of big data. Data scientist jobs are in high demand and will likely remain so for a long time. All of the world’s largest companies are data-driven empires. 4. UX Design

UX design will be in high demand for 2023, with so many new technologies, apps and websites being launched every year. Every big company will have a role for a product manager – every company that has a product needs a manager. The current economic climate makes these skills in high demand. Glassdooor also rated Product Manager as the UK’s second-best job for 2020 with an average score of 4.6.

What is the role of a product manager? Like the UX designer the product manager is involved in all aspects of a project. From research, planning, design, and analysis. You’ll need to have excellent communication skills if you want to be a successful Product Manager. This is because you will be working with many different stakeholders at the same time. A product manager’s ability to manage time is also important, since they are the epicenter of a project.

The technology sector is in high demand, and it will continue to be so for a long time. It’s an excellent time to enter the industry. The tech industry will continue to be in high demand until 2023. By developing and researching these skills, you can be well on your way to a successful career.
